Where it stands
MARA agreed in April 2026 to buy Long Ridge Energy & Power, including its 505 MW gas plant in Hannibal, Ohio, for about $1.5 billion. As of October 2026 the deal had not closed and was still awaiting FERC approval. MARA plans to start building an AI/Critical IT campus there in 1H 2027, with first capacity targeted for mid-2028 and up to 600 gross MW over time. The 200 MW of existing MARA capacity at the co-located Hannibal site is not counted as operating for this AI campus, and no Hannibal lease has been signed.
