Overview

A power backup system that connects multiple uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units in parallel directly to two or more independent power sources, without any active switching devices between them. Each UPS features separate primary feeds and maintenance bypass feeds that cross-connect to different power sources, so if one source fails, the other continues automatically supplying all units. Conventional UPS systems require expensive active switches to manage power distribution and synchronize output among multiple units, creating failure points and preventing expansion without additional costly components. This design eliminates those active switches by using direct connections instead, which removes the cost and complexity barriers to scaling while still enabling synchronized power output to loads from potentially unsynchronous sources.
