Overview

Parallel uninterruptible power supplies connected directly to independent power sources address the cost and complexity problems of conventional UPS designs. Traditional systems use expensive active switching components to route power from utility and backup sources to individual UPS units, creating scalability constraints, synchronization requirements, and potential failure points. This system connects multiple UPS units in parallel directly to two or more independent power sources through passive sensing switches, with no active components in between. Each UPS simultaneously receives power from all sources. If one source fails, the others continue supplying power to all UPS units without interruption. The configuration requires no synchronization logic and is inherently scalable; additional loads can simply be added in parallel. This approach achieves higher reliability and lower capital cost than systems requiring active switching infrastructure.
