Overview
A backup power system with intelligent threshold-based control that minimizes unnecessary cycling of a backup generator during power fluctuations. The system monitors stored energy in a battery or similar component against two thresholds: the first ensures enough energy reserves to sustain operations while the generator starts and reaches full output, while the second, set higher, prevents the generator from repeatedly cycling on and off during minor power dips. This dual-threshold approach keeps generators from wearing out due to frequent starts, prevents stored energy from being depleted faster than it can recharge, and protects sensitive electronics from damage caused by power spikes during intermittent outages. Traditional backup systems lack this intelligence and activate the generator with every power disturbance, regardless of severity.
