Overview
A backup power system that protects sensitive electronics during intermittent power outages using a dual-threshold strategy. When the main power grid experiences brief interruptions followed by quick recovery—repeated multiple times—conventional systems cycle generators on and off wastefully and drain battery reserves. This system avoids that problem by monitoring stored energy against two thresholds: the lower threshold ensures the backup generator has enough battery reserve to reach full output, while the higher threshold prevents unnecessary generator cycling during brief fluctuations. A controller selectively supplies power from the main grid, backup generator, or stored energy based on these thresholds, providing continuous protection without the equipment stress and battery depletion of systems that react to every dip in grid power.
