Where it stands
TeraWulf's Cayuga Site (also called Lake Hawkeye) on a leased former coal plant property in Lansing, NY is planned for up to 400 MW gross and about 320 MW critical IT, but nothing is built and no complete application has been accepted by the town. As of October 2026 the Lansing Town Board is drafting a local law to ban data centers, New York's Executive Order 62 pauses certain state permits, and TeraWulf's CEO has signaled possible legal action if a ban is adopted. One local report describes a 150 MW data center, which conflicts with the company's 320 MW critical IT figure.
