Where it stands
In July 2026 MARA acquired the project company holding rights to a 1,200+ acre powered land site in Matagorda County, Texas, with a utility letter agreement for 2,000 MW, for up to $600 million in milestone payments. The 2 GW of capacity is still subject to ERCOT and interconnection approvals, and no tenant lease has been signed. Reporting through September 2026 gives no sign that construction has started. Management targets about 1 GW by October 2027 and 2 GW by April 2028.
