Where it stands

The Alborz Facility near Happy, Texas was a 40 MW wind-powered bitcoin mining site owned 49% by Cipher through a WindHQ joint venture; mining began in February 2022 and the final rigs were installed in August 2022. On February 19, 2026, Cipher sold its 49% interests in the WindHQ JV sites, including Alborz, to Canaan U.S. Inc. A possible expansion to 163 MW was mentioned as an opportunity but never reported as started.

Site intelligence

Analytical estimate. Each site below is located from public records (filings, releases, news, OpenStreetMap) and checked against free satellite imagery; "How we located this site" lists every step and the score it earned. The conclusion is computed from night-time lights, surface heat and year-over-year change, with the dates it rests on. These are hypotheses under active tracking, not legal parcels or an official endorsement.
