Lance D'Ambrosio, age 68, has served on Riot's Board since May 2021. He has been Lead Independent Director since February 2025, Chair of the Compensation Committee since June 2024, and serves on the Audit Committee and Governance Committee. He previously chaired the Audit Committee from May 2021 through June 2024.
D'Ambrosio is co-founder and Chairman of RackScale Data Centers, an AI/HPC infrastructure company, since May 2022. Since 2001, he has served as Managing Partner of 4D Investments, focusing on technology and real estate investments. Previously, he was CEO and Chairman of Crystal Peak Minerals, a Canadian public minerals company, from 2010 to 2018.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Utah, graduating in 1979 as a Dean's Honor List member. He is a recipient of the Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the e-Software & Services category.
