Caitlin Long (age 56) has served on Cipher Mining's board of directors since August 2021 and chairs the Compensation Committee. She is Founder and CEO of Custodia Bank, Inc. (formerly Avanti Financial Group), a chartered bank she founded in 2020 to provide compliant infrastructure between U.S. dollar and cryptocurrency systems. She also serves as a director of PSQ Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PSQH).
From 1994 to 2016, Long worked at investment banks in New York and Zurich, holding senior positions including Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. From 2016 to 2018, she served as Chairman and President of Symbiont.io, an enterprise fintech company focused on blockchain technology. Beginning in 2017, Long led Wyoming's legislative efforts to enact more than 20 blockchain-enabling laws across consecutive sessions and was appointed by two Wyoming Governors to serve on related legislative committees.
Long holds a B.A. from the University of Wyoming and earned a joint J.D./M.P.P. from Harvard Law School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
