Michael Levitt, 63, has served as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chair of Core Scientific's Board since January 2022, following his role as CEO of Legacy Core from May 2021 until the Business Combination. He was Chairman and board member of Legacy Core from June 2018 and has served as Chairman of Irradiant Partners, LP since October 2021.
From July 2016 to July 2021, Levitt was CEO of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P. Before that, he was Vice Chairman and Partner at Apollo Global Management, LLC (NYSE: APO) from April 2012 to May 2016. He founded Stone Tower Capital LLC in 2001, serving as Chairman, CEO and Chief Investment Officer until its acquisition by Apollo. Earlier in his career, Levitt was a Partner at Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Incorporated and served as Co-Head of the Investment Banking Division at Smith Barney Inc., having started his banking career at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc.
Levitt has served on the board of The Music Acquisition Corporation (NYSE: TMAC) since December 2020 and previously served on Kayne Anderson BDC, LLC's board from May 2018 to October 2021. He holds a B.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Michigan.
