Cary Grossman has served on Cipher Mining's Board since August 2021 and chairs the Audit Committee. From 2010 to 2025, he was principal of Shoreline Capital Advisors, Inc., providing financial advisory services to middle-market companies. From February 2021 to February 2023, he served as CEO, President, Chief Financial Officer and board member of Good Works II Acquisition Corp. He co-founded GWAC in 2020 and served as President and board member from June 2020 through August 2021. Prior to Shoreline Capital Advisors, Grossman co-founded and served as CEO of McFarland, Grossman & Company from 1991 to 2002, an investment banking firm.
Grossman held several executive positions: President of XFit, Inc. from 2019 to 2020; Chief Financial Officer of Blaze Metals, LLC from 2007 to 2010; Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Gentium, S.P.A. from 2004 to 2006; and Chief Executive Officer of ERP Environmental Services, Inc. and Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Liquids, Inc. from 2001 to 2003. He spent 15 years in public accounting earlier in his career. Grossman co-founded Pentacon, Inc. (NYSE: JIT), serving as board member and Executive Chairman from 1998 to 2002, and served as director of Metalico (NYSE: MEA) from 2014 to 2015 and INX Inc. (Nasdaq: INXI) from 2004 to 2011.
Grossman is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Texas.
