How we checked this
Checked on October 16, 2026. The cited source supports part of this claim, but not all of it.
The presentation confirms the Apollo option for up to 900 MW in Texas and its Batch Zero submission. The 'land secured and deposits funded, with target energization in 2028' text appears on the same slide, but the extracted layout does not clearly tie it to Apollo rather than the 1 GW Colchis site, which a later slide says is expected to energize in 2028.
Confirmed in the source:
- Cipher acquired an option for a new site in Texas for up to 900 MW
- The new site is called Apollo
- Apollo has been submitted as a studied load in ERCOT's Batch Zero through ERCOT's updated process
We could not confirm this from the cited source:
- That land has been secured and deposits funded specifically for the Apollo site
- That the Apollo site has a target energization date of 2028
That does not mean it is false — only that this source does not establish it, as of the date above. If we find a source that settles it, we will re-check and update this page.
What we did: Read our cached copy of SEC EDGAR (8-K Ex) (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1819989/000119312526419743/d134900dex991.htm) in full (17,922 characters, retrieved October 14, 2026) and checked each assertion in the claim against it.
