Ashu Swami has been Marathon Digital's Chief Technology Officer since December 2021. He joined from Core Scientific Inc., where he served as chief principal officer from February to September 2021, leading DeFi initiatives and mining hardware-software optimization. From January 2019 to February 2021, he was CTO of Apifiny Inc., a hybrid CEX/DEX crypto exchange. During 2016–2018, he led a special purpose vehicle at Quadeye Securities LLC focused on mining swap trading and cloud mining data center operations, while advising Fortune 50 companies including Intel on blockchain initiatives.
Earlier, Swami founded LocalPad (2013–2015), a peer-to-peer marketplace and payments plugin for blogs. From 2007 to 2013, he was a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley Program Trading, building the high-frequency ETF market-making business to top-five market share. He began his career as a senior component designer and Tech Lead in Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group (2002–2007). Swami holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay and an MBA from Duke University.
