David Pauker, age 61, joined Cipher Mining's board as director at its IPO closing in 2020. He brings more than 25 years of experience as a financial advisor and interim C-suite executive to public and private companies. From 1990 to 2015, he served as Executive Managing Director of Goldin Associates, a financial and restructuring advisory firm, where he headed the national practice and advised on matters across financial services, energy, consumer products, chemicals, manufacturing, media, telecom, real estate and retail.
Pauker has held interim C-suite roles at Young Broadcasting, Refco, Vlasic Foods/Swanson Frozen Foods, Grand Court Lifestyles, PSINet Consulting, ISM Advisors, Pharmacy Fund and Essar Steel Minnesota, focusing on identifying core competencies, negotiating restructuring transactions and optimizing working capital. His board seats include non-executive Chairman of the Government Development Bank Debt Recovery Authority of Puerto Rico and director of Steinhoff International Holdings, NV. He served as Chairman of Lehman Brothers (2015-2016) following its bankruptcy emergence plan and has previously served on the boards of Terraform Power, Interstate Bakeries and Social Accountability International.
Pauker holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
