John Lee has served as Chief Accounting Officer at Marathon Digital since November 2022. Prior to joining Marathon Digital, he was Vice President, Corporate Controller at Wakefern Food Corporation from April 2022, and Vice President of Financial Operations and Financial Planning at Amerigas Propane, Inc. from 2016 to April 2022. He brings over 30 years of diversified accounting and finance experience spanning public accounting and large public companies in the retail industry.
Earlier in his career, Lee held several senior positions at Ascena Retail Group, Inc. (formerly Charming Shoppes, Inc.), including Senior Vice President – Controller/Shared Services (2012–2016), Senior Vice President – Chief Accounting Officer & Controller (2010–2012), and Senior Vice President – Corporate Accounting (2001–2012). He began his career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP, where he performed audits of public companies and advanced to senior manager.
Lee holds a Certified Public Accountant license in Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Engineering with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University.
