Checked on October 2, 2026. The cited source supports part of this claim, but not all of it.
The article does contain a sentence linking Cipher's exit to the third quarter. Elsewhere it says Cipher was likely to be out of mining only by the end of 2027, so the source does not clearly establish that the exit completes in Q3.
Confirmed in the source:
- CoinShares reported that Cipher Digital is exiting Bitcoin mining
- CoinShares said at least 35 EH/s was scheduled to leave the listed miner group in the third quarter as IREN and Cipher completed their exits
We could not confirm this from the cited source:
- Cipher Digital will fully complete its exit from mining in the third quarter; the same article says Cipher expected mining to be immaterial by 2030 and was likely out by the end of 2027
