Quick Read

  • Cipher Mining surges 12% and TeraWulf 8% in a catalyst-free oversold bounce after each shed more than 20% over the prior month.

  • DTCR rises just 2% and SPY 1%, both far behind the miners, placing today's rally in speculative rather than broad sector territory.

  • TeraWulf earns 71% of its revenue from HPC and holds a 20-year Anthropic lease worth ~$19 billion, yet its stock still trades on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin-linked data center operators are rebounding today as Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) stabilizes near recent lows, and none of the intraday moves trace to a fresh company announcement. The group carries its old mining identity into every session even as the underlying businesses evolve toward AI infrastructure. That gap between what these companies now sell and what their share prices respond to defines the trade.

The framing sits in the benchmarks. The Global X Data Center & Digital Infrastructure ETF (NASDAQ:DTCR) is up 2% to $27.87, while the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) is up 1% to $774.02. Both funds sit well behind the individual miner moves, which places today's rally in the speculative corner of the data center theme rather than across the sector broadly.

Cipher Mining (NASDAQ:CIFR) stock is up 12% to $17.08, retracing part of a steep monthly drawdown. Meanwhile, TeraWulf (NASDAQ:WULF) stock is up 8% to $15.95, the middle mover in the group and the name that already gets most of its revenue from something other than mining. IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) stock is up 4% to $41.14, the smallest of the three moves and the least bruised name entering the session. As for Bitcoin itself, it trades at $81,204.22, up 5% over the past 24 hours.
