CoreWeave signs AI cloud deal with Hudson River Trading for research platform

Livingston-based CoreWeave has signed a multiyear agreement with Hudson River Trading to provide AI cloud infrastructure for the quantitative trading firm’s next-generation research platform.

CoreWeave said HRT will use its purpose-built AI cloud platform, including NVIDIA Vera Rubin technology and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, to support AI-driven trading research and model development at scale.

Hudson River Trading uses machine learning, large-scale neural network models and high-performance computing in quantitative research and trading. CoreWeave said the partnership is intended to give HRT’s researchers access to high-performance infrastructure as its models become more complex and its training data volumes grow.

“As we scale our AI and machine learning research, the AI platform we build on matters as much as the models we build,” said Kevin Lee, head of research and development at HRT. “We chose CoreWeave because they understand what it takes to run AI in demanding production environments, and because we’re confident they’ll scale alongside us as our ambitions do.”

HRT will run AI research and model training workloads on CoreWeave’s platform. The infrastructure will include clusters of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 and NVIDIA HGX B200 GPU systems, which CoreWeave said are designed for the density and throughput required by large-scale AI model training.

The platform will also include high-throughput Direct Connect networking using Spectrum-X Ethernet, designed to support data movement between HRT’s on-premises environment and CoreWeave’s platform. CoreWeave said the setup is intended to minimize latency and provide reliable, predictable data movement.

The company said HRT will have access to technical support, tools and frameworks intended to help research teams experiment and develop more advanced models.

“Financial services is one of the most demanding proving grounds for AI,” said Jon Jones, chief revenue officer at CoreWeave. “HRT is one of the companies setting the standard for what it means to bring AI into production in a performance-critical environment. CoreWeave is built to be the cloud that serious AI workloads run on, and this partnership reflects the trust that the world’s most sophisticated organizations are placing in us.”

CoreWeave said the agreement reflects its growing presence among financial services institutions and its broader strategy of serving organizations running production-scale AI workloads.

The company said its infrastructure performance has been demonstrated through MLPerf benchmark results, SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX rankings and independent inference benchmarking conducted by Artificial Analysis.
